Workflows Salesforce Workflows In the second part of the blog series " Process automation in Salesforce " we will look at automating processes through Salesforce workflows so that you can design your business processes quickly and efficiently in the future. Workflows, once set up, can do all of this for you. Create Salesforce workflows Create individual Salesforce workflows How do Salesforce workflows work? Workflows consist of two main components. The criterion describes what has to happen in your system or with the object entries it contains for the workflow rule to be triggered. The second component is the actions triggered by your defined rules coming into effect. It should therefore be clearly defined in advance for which object you want to create a workflow and which exact information serves as criteria. You can also specify the time at which the workflow rule should be executed.



The options here are to trigger the rule when creating or when creating and updating entries. Finally, it should also be clarified how exactly your control criteria are defined. Standard workflows Salesforce standard workflows Is tiresome routine work taking up your time? Then simply automate them with Salesforce standard workflows. In order for the workflow to have meaning and be effective, workflow actions , i.e.  follow-up actions, must be determined . There are two options here too: Immediate actions : The action is triggered immediately after the workflow rule takes effect. Time-dependent actions : The actions are executed at a specific time after the workflow rule takes effect. Possible actions include: email notifications, tasks, updating object fields, outbound messages . Limitations The Salesforce Workflows are only available in the Enterprise and Unlimited Editions. There is also no option to purchase workflows as an additional feature for an existing license.
